Wall-E used a fire extinguisher before going to space, shown when firing certain materials. It kinda reflects the function put out. He finds an object, tests it’s “use” and use when necessary. Wall-E uses they tactic when he remembers the function of the fire extinguisher

You will probably not be shocked to learn that his design started at a baseball game as Andrew Stanton played with his binoculars, or that the major inspiration for WALL-E's character was Buster Keaton. (The story team and animation leads watched every Keaton film. Or at least a ton of them.)

I just realised that wall-e’s battery is like his heart, so when it’s flat, he’s dead. But when Eva does the forehead touch on wall-e, his battery goes up and down, so when Eva did that his heart started to race. God I love this little dork robot

I don’t think that wanting to save the world is “picking a side” wanting to save the planet SHOULD be universal. Climate Change is happening whether we want it to or not. The trash is killing the planet. Our oceans are rapidly becoming inhospitable. Everything we’re doing is destroying the planet and unless we do a 180 toot sweet we’re gonna doom us all. Facts don’t care about “sides”.

tbh the one thing I didn't like about wall-e was the fatphobia and ableism in the presentation of the axiom passengers. I get that they were trying to send a message about the harm of making things too convenient and people becoming stagnant and unfulfilled, but the stereotype of "fat people are lazy and weak and can't walk" sends the (maybe unintended) message that "being fat or needing a mobility aid is bad." They could have had the passengers walk everywhere but be stuck following their blue lines and they could still get their intended message across, so I'm disheartened that they chose otherwise.

Agreed and walle’s personality could be both an error in his code and robot insanity where both not being updated and continuing self awareness combined with his code to sort out what can be compacted, where it can be stored and so on and so on, and whilst eventually the others simply fell apart or died due accident leaving walle alone and so looked for more productive ways to adapt and survive In his surroundings, and this would explain the others which would follow similar codes like walle but more specialised to allow them to adapt to the changing environment, ie Auto where he was nothing but a wheel but as time passed he became more self aware but restrained himself because he knew humanities survival is at stake and so, dogmatically follows his orders unlike walle or eve who have adapted and accepted the changes and are more independent of responsibility are able to become more independent

Humanity is obsessed with having the latest tech (I'm also guilty of this, basically everyone is), which is ultimately our downfall. Wall-E appreciates all of the old and broken things, he gets excited over an old rusted lighter. basically, the message I take from this is, be aware of your consumerism habits, if you don't need to replace something, then don't.

Can we also talk about how in the beginning of the movie, when we hear *a whole new life* Wall E steps away to show her the plant. Because the plant *is* life. And it’s the way the humans go to start a new life.

Why do you people insist on analyzing the sentience of wall-e? It's a fictional robot, get over it. We're never going to have that shit in real life. And even if we do, it will never be controllable. I enjoyed wall-e, but the whole, sentient robot trend in our movie culture, irritates the fuck out of me

Have you not heard about the theory that the food the humans eat is recycled organic material from dead humans. They were only suppose to be out there in space for about a century I think, they would have run out of food by then.

Looking back at the consumerism on the ship, how do you know its still a capitalist backed system? Since there is nothing done by humans on the ship, all by robots, how do you know its not based on how many customers each product gets?
Itd be in the robot programming to make an appealing as possible product, and since it doesnt need money to cover food or rent since it exists solely to work, just getting people to consume its product is its reward.

I think more could be said about the credits. With most movies the credits could be skipped and you wouldn't be missing much, maybe a joke or easter egg. In WALL-E the credits & Peter Gabriel song are really part of the narrative and crucial to the final emotional impact of the movie.
