hey, the Flame of Arnor is the ring of power that Gandalf has, one of the 3 elven ones. Cirdan gave it to him. servant of the secret fire is basically Illuvatar, the main deity, the one that maid all the the rest of the pantheon and the balrog being the flame of Udun is because he was made by Morgoth, and Udun was his base, the original dark lord and Saurons boss its all in the silmarillion :P

though i get your wrong opinion about the extended cut, it doesnt take away from the theatrical. sure, let your first 1-10 viewings be the theatrical, you get to know the story, and according to you the better version of it. Then watch the extended and you have the basis of the theatrical, with all this new magic coming to life. i can still spot the extended scenes and i am never disappointed, just glad there's more to the magical story

@CinemaWins - PLEASE do The Village (2004). Largely because of poor marketing, people went into it expecting one thing but got another and came out bashing it. It’s not perfect (though you could say the score is), but it _DOESN’T_ deserve the hate it gets. It’s one of my all-time favorites. Please consider.

These movies and all the hours of ‘making-of’ jaw dropping, drool-worthy details on the discs are why the hubster and I honeymooned in New Zealand. We HAD to see that fabulous country with our own eyes. We’ll be going back on our 20th anniversary, because there’s so much to see and so little time. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

How the director/casting director/or whoever came up with Viggo Mortensen for the role of Aragorn when needing a replacement deserves an Oscar all their own, for no one but Viggo could have done it, and we also can all thank his son because he didn’t have any real interest, but his son said “you have to do it” then the commitment . . . he fully bought in to it and became Aragorn.

12:42 I'm pretty sure the "by rights we shouldn't even be here" line is a nod to the fact that they never end up there in the book - Faramir isn't tempted by the ring and just helps them on their way.

This may be an older video, but why not add a post-career win for Andy Serkis since the role of Gollum was both a literal and figurative career-defining role since he now has his own motion capture studio and is considered a specialist in motion capture because of it. With the majority of Serikis' other famous roles from Snoke to Caesar being motion capture performances it just makes sense.

You say and I quote Costumes really handcrafted, a whole bunch worn by women pretending to be men. Apparently there just weren't enough male horse riders in New Zealand to fill our Eomer's ranks so they started slapping beards on women! This is both correct but also completely wrong. There WAS enough male horse riders when the film was being cast but when the male horse riders were needed it was in the middle of lambing season so all the male riders were tending to their flocks. That is why most of them were female riders.

I mean you kind of gave a win for the scene itself but im surprised you didnt give 3 wins for Christopher Lee saying " *March to helm's deep. Leave none alive* ". God damn those goosebumps and that voice. He actually hoped to be actor for Ganfalf but this scene best reflects how his presence and voice suits the most "vocally powerful" villain in the story who is in physical form. (Number one goes to "You cannot hide, i see you"

Spiderman 3 had a budget of 294 mil, Lotr trilogy had that combined, what amazing quality, attention to detail and love that was poured into this trilogy, without a doubt my favorite movie/trilogy of all time(who can truly pick out their favorite of the three). Sad that The Hobbit was a product of how people nowadays chases mainstream attention so hard that you are left with a bunch of shiny animated characters, obligatory never-gonna-happen love plots and failed attempts to incooperate continuity(freaking dol guldur).

So um, I didn't see anyone pointing that out so "flame of Anur" isn't the Sun, it's the Eru, the god in the LotR. Gandalf as Maiar (angel) is the servant of the god.

Dude...it's ARNOR, like, the old-fallen-kingdom in the North. I'm usually not that nerd-guy, but it's important for your "win." It changes things, it makes your thing silly. Yeah, light's a big deal in Tolkien, but it's not "the Sun." It gets into all this Valar and Maiar shit (spoiler, Gandalf's a Maia, lol literally a fucking Angel sent down from Heaven). But, it's aRnor, not "anor," that's just hearing it in a British accent. When he's saying that shit to the Balrog (again, more shit to get into), he's saying it as much to himself as that fucking demon, cuz they're literally on the same level (Balrog's a Maia, too, except he's not as constrained as Gandalf is so....aka real threat), so, long story short, Gandalf's basically pumping himself up. He's like (to himself), "Bro, "I'm so fucking tired, but I gotta stop this motherfucker, cuz we gotta get outta here and this dude's about to wreak some fucking havoc. So WHAT'S UP BRO I'M THE MOTHERFUCKING FLAME OF ARNOR YOU CANNOT PASS BITCH!"
And that's that whole "Flame of Arnor" business.

I was most disappointed by Jackson’s choice to take the hobbits to Osgiliath. You said in here that you didn’t understand Faramir’s sudden change in what to do with the hobbits, that’s because the real Faramir wasn’t swayed by the ring like his brother and actually let the hobbits go after he captured them. Unfortunately this film ruins his character arc from the books...

The Battle of Helms Deep is amazing, but I don't think the Storming of Isengard gets talked about enough in this movie. Saruman's absolute shock at the sudden wrath of the Ents, followed by the destruction of the dam literally washing away all of the evil, combined with that scene's fantastic score, makes it one of my personal favorite moments in film ever.

So Corridor Crew did a video with one of the Weta guys. Apparently, not only was the massive army at Helm's Deep fully CGI, but they also:
1) Had every orc custom generated so that, even though we don't see them, they're all different, and
2) Made a combat simulation so that the orcs would act real. When you see tiny orcs running away, that the computer deciding to have them run!

I don't know why but this movie is the one I love the most. I think it's the Battle of Helm's Deep. I think it's because in this movie you can really see Gimli and Legolas become friends. I mean, Legolas pulls a bow on Eomer because he says he'd cut off Gimli's head. They have fun at Helm's Deep with their game and you can really see how they become like brothers. Return of the King is my second one and Fellowship is the last. I know the first one being my least favorite but it just is.

I especially love the "By rights we shouldn't even be here" line when they are in Osgiliath. This scene isn't in the book! It's purposeful that Tolkien doesn't include any actual scenes set there. Osgiliath was the original capital of Gondor. It changed hands a number of times before being totally abandoned. It's just a memory, something referenced but never really seen.

Gollum looked at them. A strange expression passed over his lean hungry face. The gleam faded from his eyes, and they went dim and grey, old and tired. A spasm of pain seemed to twist him, and he turned away, peering back up towards the pass, shaking his head, as if engaged in some interior debate. Then he came back, and slowly putting out a trembling hand, very cautiously he touched Frodo's knee — but almost the touch was a caress. For a fleeting moment, could one of the sleepers have seen him, they would have thought that they beheld an old weary hobbit, shrunken by the years that had carried him far beyond his time, beyond friends and kin, and the fields and streams of youth, an old starved pitiable thing.

i can't allow the elf charge in the helms deep battle to be a win, theyre defending a chokepoint theyre up a slight hill (and the uruks are in a pool so slowed more) and the elves all have bows, charging is completely terrible tactically, standing ground and firing at will would slay plenty more and they might even be able to keep them back long enough for groups to peel off and reach the keep
